Mayor Lori Lightfoot appointed Brian H. Sanchez to the City of Chicago Zoning Board of Appeals. The Zoning Board of Appeals reviews land use issues that pertain to the Chicago Zoning Ordinance, including proposed variations from the zoning code, special uses that require review to determine compatibility with adjacent properties, and appeals of decisions made by the Zoning Administrator. “I am so grateful to the Mayor for appointing me, and to Chairman Tunney, the rest of the Zoning Committee, and the entire City Council for confirming my appointment,” said Brian. “This presents an opportunity for me to serve the City I love and have lived in for the last 18 years. I look forward to helping make this City a better place for all of its residents.” Established in 1923, the Zoning Board of Appeals has five members that are appointed by the Mayor with City Council consent. The City Council confirmed Brian’s appointment on October 7, 2020 for a term of five years.
