Managing Partner Manny Sanchez has been reinstalled by Governor Bruce Rauner to the city-state panel known as the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority Board (ISFA) that owns U.S. Cellular Field. Mr. Sanchez was appointed Chairman of ISFA and this appointment is a welcome return to the Board for Sanchez Daniels & Hoffman’s founder. “I’m ecstatic,” Sanchez said today. “I look forward to growing the revenue sources at U.S. Cellular Field and protecting the interests of the state and the city in terms of (the ballpark’s) fiscal viability.”
The ISFA Board, which manages bond debt payments from construction of U.S. Cellular Field and the renovation of Soldier Field, is composed of four governor appointees and three mayoral appointees. The appointment of the ISFA chairman requires the consent of the mayor of Chicago. The three board members appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel—Loop Capital CEO Jim Reynolds, Mesirow Financial Holdings Chairman Richard Price and longtime bank executive Norm Bobins—remain in their roles.
The appointment requires the approval of the Illinois Senate. Mr. Sanchez also co-chaired Rauner’s transition team after November’s election.
