Hugh C. O’Donnell

Hugh attended The University of Chicago and has lived in Illinois continuously since his graduation. After law school at the University of Illinois in Champaign, he returned to Chicago where he had worked during law school summers for the Corporation Counsel’s Office of the City of Chicago. Although he worked at two other firms in Chicago and suburbs, he has been with Sanchez Daniels & Hoffman for over twenty years.

Hugh has tried numerous cases in different venues across Illinois, although primarily in Cook County Circuit Court. He has also tried cases in the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois and the Northern District of Indiana. He is also licensed in Indiana state courts and has tried cases there as well.

Over the years, his practice has involved mostly the defense of civil lawsuits, especially personal injury suits. He has defended product liability, premises, employment, common carrier, toxic tort, medical malpractice, professional negligence, automobile, construction, and Dram Shop cases. He also has handled cases dealing with civil rights, alleged police brutality, ADA/disability, human rights, commercial litigation, fraud, defamation/slander lawsuits, Declaratory Judgment Actions, TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) and FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) and appeals. He has also developed a concentration in executive compensation.

Hugh lives in Western Springs, Illinois with his wife and three daughters.
